These people seem very cheesy.......but they are onto a great idea!

In Celebration of the Process
It is Town Meeting Day in Vermont.
I took my seven week old baby girl into the polls today, as I am on day seven of my paternity leave.
The women who handed me my Presidential Ballot said "I hope there is something left to vote for when she's 18."
"I'm hoping to do something about that right now." I replied.
In the booth I filled in the box for Barac Obama, who has banked his last five years on change for my sake.
As I voted YES or NO on local expenditure line items, I used the new found scrutiny instilled in my by Dr. Ron Paul; a man who has dedicated over twenty years to protecting the original intent of our Founding Fathers, for limited Government and personal freedom.
It was in this booth, while writing in my own name for seven positions (since no one was running for them) that I realized, these two men have inspired me to do something in my community. I need to unite like minded young people to take over the civic duties that made our state famous for it's more direct form of Democracy.
Serendipity would have it that a sixth grader named Emily came on the Village School P.A. to lead her classmates (and voters) in the Pledge of Allegiance. I was very taken back.
It was then that my little future of America became the proverbial "crying baby at town meeting".
I put a ten dollar bill in the hand of a young boy raising money for a trip to Washington D.C. this spring. All I asked in return was a giant nobake.
I am so proud to live in this great State and Nation.
There will be more to come on my simple plan to inspire.

No Beer for Bama!
I have sent Barac Obama's campaign the amount of money I would usually spend on beer for the next two moons!
For those of you who know me......you realize that Otter Creek and Genesee will be laying off a worker or two 'till trout season........but it's all in support of restoring this once great Republic!
