The Usual Republican Scare Tactics

By CE Beck - Posted on 06 October 2008

The Republicans are up to their usual tricks again. Let's hope Obama has better luck fending off their scare tactics than Kerry did in 2004.

Sarah Palin on Sunday defended her charge against Barack Obama that he is "palling around with terrorists," upping the ante in the latest go-around with the Democratic presidential candidate over his ties to questionable characters.

...Obama said the country faces many crises, but instead of focusing on them, McCain plans to "turn the page on the discussion about our economy and spend the final weeks of this campaign launching Swift boat-style attacks on me."

"Senator McCain and his operatives are gambling that he can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance. They'd rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up. It's what you do when you're out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time," Obama said. "We're not going to let John McCain distract us from what we need to do to move this country forward."

The McCain campaign responded that the rest of the election calendar will be dedicated to asking Americans whether they "are willing to turn our economy and national security over to Barack Obama, a man with little record, questionable judgment and ties to radical figures."

Attacks Get Personal

When voters aren't convinced by your policies, your experience, or even your POW history, just try scaring the living crap out of them instead! It worked for George W, after all.

Obama's campaign has responded by officially bringing up the Keating 5 scandal:

Keating Economics

With election day less than a month away, the gloves have definitely come off.
Hold on, everyone, it's about to get ugly.

The British press also reported that Palin had accussed Obama of "palling around with terrorists" and being an "embarassment" to America. I find this unbelievable, how can she get away with such blatant BS!? It really is playground tactics. I find that woman completely detestable. I really do hope the American people do not fall for her.
