Projects
This section will be getting expanded out shortly with more details on all the projects. The below is a teaser of what is to come. If you have any suggestions or general comments leave them here.
Completed
The 2006 Mongol Rally - check out all the details on the Mongol Rally Page
In Progress
The Poor Man's Winter - To dispel the myth that skiing and snowboarding need to be expensive activities. Each participant will have a budget of $200 to get as many days on the mountain as possible between Nov. 1st and May 1st. The three main options will be 1. small forgotten ski hills, 2. backyard trails and parks, and 3. backcountry hiking only. Check out the latest on the Poor Man's Winter Page
In The Works
The 2007 Mongol Rally - bad colonie' will hopefully be welcoming a new team to the mix. They are angling to participate in the 07 rally and hopefully will be providing updates on their journey on this site.
The Seven Year's Winter - theory has it that every 7 years the Northeast gets hit with a mother of a winter. I can vouch for 93-94 and 00-01, both fantastic. We set a goal a few years back that we would make a decided effort to enjoy these winters beyond the typical commitment.
Hope is not lost
The now infamous "Pan Am Rally" - we are looking into organizing a rally from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires for the Summer 2008. This has the significant issue of time and money required, neither of which are in abundance around here. If you are interested in helping with this one, send a private message to either "Nathaniel" or "dominic".
The Great Northwest Passage Snow Trek - this is Nathaniel's personal goal. It would be a snowboard adventure that would hit the following locations: Gaspe Pennisula in Quebec, Newfoundland, Baffin Island, Greenland, and Iceland. The name comes from the expeditions of past that sought a shipping route to the Orient via this region.
